Day 36 - La Cieneguilla Mesa Petroglyphs

Out here, we's gots chile trucks.

Today's UFO sighting. Roswell's just down the road from here.

The Cieneguilla Mesa. They promised us multiple sightings of the Kokopelli motif - the dancing flute player. We think the whole Kokopelli thing is entirely baked up by the tourist industry, as we are zero for Kokopelli sightings in all the time we've spent in the Southwest.

We climbed up to this Mesa top by accident - the petroglyphs are below us - but the view back to Santa Fe and the Cristos is worth the climb.

The World Famous Petropiles. It is not known how these rocks came to be in these configurations.

Petroglyph sightings. They are waaaay up a side-canyon's walls, and the tumbledown in front makes them very inaccessible. There are mutiple human and animal shapes... but no Kokopelli.

This piece of tumbledown contains an ancient ampersand.

Emma regards the latest hurdle of the day.

The World Famous Alphagetti Bush. And you thought Alphagetti was some kind of manufactured simulated food item.

Camo - glyph.

The vast Rio Grande Valley. Just for Grant.

It's in a mall. And they sure know how to bake.

The sky cooks up a good one for us on the way back to the hacienda. Maybe our last Santa Fe sunset? They're still talking about a nasty weather possibility.
